Once you have taught your students how to write in order to persuade others, now it’s time for them to write their own persuasive piece. This resource can be used as a center activity, an assessment piece, or a practice piece. It contains a PDF version as well as a DIGITAL resource that is used with Google Slides™. Digitally writing allows students to use any device (tablets, iPads, Chrome books, laptops, and other mobile devices) and is more engaging than using traditional paper and pencil.
The 10-page resource includes a hook (‘If You Give a Mouse a Cookie’) link, 4 pages of graphic organizers, pages to use for writing, and 2 different rubrics. The premise is for students to write to judges to persuade them that their cookie should win the cookie contest.
Instructions for teachers and students are included. If using digital, all students need to do is click in the box and type their responses.
